From Grenoble to Nice • 20 - 30 July 2025
Southern French Alps
Journey through some of the most stunning and less-travelled roads in the Southern French Alps on a tour that combines alpine adventure with the charm of the Mediterranean. Starting in Bourg d’Oisans, home to the legendary Alpe d’Huez, this tour takes you along quiet, scenic roads around Parc National des Écrins, offering a peaceful yet challenging ride through breathtaking landscapes.
As we head south, we’ll experience long, rewarding days on roads that few travellers take, leading up to Barcelonnette. A highlight of the tour is the ride across the disputed "highest road pass in Europe," the majestic Cime de la Bonette. From there, the journey continues through picturesque villages and onto the tranquil coastal town of Menton, where the French Riviera meets the Alps.
Before we reach the coast, you'll tackle legendary climbs, including the Col de la Madone, made famous by cycling greats like Lance Armstrong. The tour concludes with a spectacular ride along the Riviera, taking in the glamour of Monaco and finishing in Nice, a perfect finale to this unforgettable journey.

FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
Can I bring a non-cycling partner on the tour?
Yes! Non-riding partners are welcome to join our tours. We offer activities for them to explore the local area, relax, or enjoy cultural experiences while the riders are on the road. Non-riders are transported in our van and usually dropped off at the hotel before the cyclists arrive, giving them time to enjoy the hotel amenities or surroundings. We ensure they feel included in the overall experience.
Are bikeNOW Europe tours competitive or race-focused?
No, our tours are not competitive events. The focus is on enjoying the journey, taking in the scenery, and exploring new places. Riders set their own pace, with guides leading and following the group. You’ll naturally form smaller groups along the route, with regular stops for cafes and photos. There’s no pressure to ride faster than you're comfortable with—our pace is relaxed and suits everyone.
What level of fitness is required for a bikeNOW Europe tour?
Our tours cater to a wide range of fitness levels. While some routes are more challenging, we ensure that the pace and difficulty are suitable for the group. If you’re comfortable cycling for several hours a day and enjoy moderate physical activity, you’ll be just fine. We also offer e-bikes for those looking for an easier ride.
How do you create a sense of community during your tours?
We foster a family-like atmosphere on all our tours. Our small group sizes encourage riders to connect, share stories, and support each other along the way. Whether you’re stopping for a coffee break or celebrating a completed climb, the camaraderie among participants is one of the most memorable aspects of our tours.
How do you select routes for the tours?
We carefully design each route with a balance of scenic beauty, cultural highlights, and rider enjoyment in mind. Our routes blend iconic tourist spots with hidden gems, ensuring you experience the best of the region. We also take into account the difficulty level to match the abilities and preferences of the group, so everyone has a rewarding ride.
Do you offer tours outside of Europe?
Currently, our focus is on providing exceptional cycling experiences across Europe. However, we are always exploring new destinations and may expand in the future. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to grow our offerings!
What sets bikeNOW tours apart from other cycling tours?
What sets bikeNOW apart is our commitment to personalised, journey-centric adventures. We don’t follow rigid itineraries; instead, we craft flexible tours that prioritise your experience. Our small group sizes allow for a more intimate and immersive journey, focusing on exploration and the joy of cycling rather than just ticking off tourist sites.
